Conservation

@rchitects Scotland Ltd are proud to promote the conservation of the Historic Environment, Traditional Buildings as well as Designed Landscapes. Our Director Paul Fretwell has extensive experience with historic properties and is a member of Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland (AHSS), the local Heritage Trust and sits on Angus Councils Steering group for Kirriemuir Conservation area Regeneration Scheme (CARS)

Refurbishment of Scotland’s many historically important buildings requires careful design and workmanship. Our approach seeks to understand and respect the original and create a design led, practical, viable and sustainable solution. To realise this, we work closely with our Clients, Planning and Conservation officers, Building Control and Historic Scotland.

We guide restoration and renovation in a sympathetic and appropriate manner; from carrying out conditions surveys to understanding the historic materials and methods of construction, @rchitects Scotland Ltd brings a professional and balanced approach to being involved in such projects. Whether the project relates to interior Remodelling, Adaptive Reuse, Refurbishment, Extension, or even simply buildings within the curtilage of a Listed Building, a Conservation Area or Scheduled Landscape; we seek to promote understanding and sensitive intervention, through appropriate contemporary design.
